About Us

Coast & Bloom is the brainchild of Mitra Walke, who brings with him the learnings and the principles of famed, Chaitanya and Nav-Chaitanya – which have been flourishing in Mumbai since the 90s. From Malvan’s tranquil shores to Mumbai’s vibrant street, Mitra’s journey thrives with passion and inspiration from his parent’s legacy, one that is built on the principles of Authenticity, Hygiene, Transparency, and Localisation and Empowerment. Rooting these principles as a founding stone and motivated by a deep-rooted love for preserving the essence of traditional recipes, Coast & Bloom was born with a vision to take this culinary journey global, offering a delectable array of coastal delicacies from diverse regions.

Mitra Walke is a hospitality visionary whose passion for serving others was inspired by his parents’ dedication in their small-town home. His journey began with humble roots and blossomed into a thriving legacy. Watching his parents serve guests with devotion laid the foundation for Mitra’s future endeavors.

Moving to Mumbai for education exposed him to the city’s diverse culinary landscape, igniting his desire to create something unique. In 2010, Mitra’s mother founded Chaitanya, a small eatery specializing in Malvani cuisine. Mitra eagerly joined, immersing himself in the operations and witnessing Chaitanya’s transformation into a renowned establishment.

Inspired by his mother’s entrepreneurial spirit, Mitra pursued formal education in hospitality, honing his skills. He expanded his family’s legacy with Nav-Chaitanya and eventually founded Coast & Bloom. Coast & Bloom showcases Mitra’s commitment to hospitality and culinary excellence, with each dish crafted to blend local flavors with a global twist. Mitra Walke’s dedication and innovation continue to leave an indelible mark on the world of hospitality, honoring his roots while shaping the future of culinary excellence.

The menu offers a myriad variety for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, especially pescetarians. Fish lovers can savour indigenous varieties like – Rawas, Pomfret, Prawns, Crabs, Bombil and Lobster alongwith imported varieties like Scallops and Norwegian Salmon. Each used in meticulously crafted dishes, bringing authenticity and a touch of traditional flavour from their originating shores. From Crab Cakes that transport you to the vibrant streets of New Orleans to the freshness of the Red Amaranth Salad, a canvas of flavours from the Italian coast to Kokum Shrimps – a dish that takes a combined inspiration from Peruvian and western region of Konkan to Tanjavur Pickle Surmai, a beloved delicacy from south India, this dish showcases the essence of traditional home-style cooking, there is something for everyone. From Spanakopitas‘ captivating Mediterranean symphony to Malaysian Sambal Pomfret, the Sichuan classic from the Asian coast renowned for its distinct spice and numbing flavours, among many other dishes are bound to make an everlasting impression on your palate!

Complementing the mains are impeccable rice preparations, such as the aromatic Nasi Goreng, the flavorful Moplah Biryani, and the tantalising Kolambi Khichdi.
